I drew "In the Eye of the Storm" in the spring of 2020, as the world was going through COVID-19 pandemic. In March, everything changed suddenly, every normalcy disappeared and we were all stumbling, trying to get our bearings. We were at home trying to figure out school, work, families, friendships and activities. People were risking their lives to help others and to keep things going - from healthcare workers to grocery store employees. It was hard not to get swept away by the storm of fear, uncertainty and depression. The storm still rages on as strong as ever...
This year has been a year of big changes for me and unexpected events that some may consider unfortunate. I believe that everything happens for a reason and I try to look for silver linings in every storm cloud. I tried to stay centered and calm, reevaluate what's important to me and to count my blessings every day. I tried to hold on to my light and share it with the world. When the storm settles, as it inevitably must, I hope we are left with a greater sense of unity, compassion, love and respect for each other and for our planet.
